No. Although 3D CAD files (such as STEP) simplify CAM programming for complex geometries, most turned parts can be quoted and manufactured directly from a detailed 2D engineering drawing in PDF or DWG format, provided all dimensions, tolerances and surface finish requirements are clearly specified.
If the component fits within our spindle bore capacity (up to [e.g. Ø65 mm]), we can machine directly from bar stock using an automatic bar feeder.
