Large-format machining
- precyzja w skali makro
Not every cutting machining facility can take on work with elements measured in meters and tons. At Euro LTD in Bytom, advanced large-format machining is one of our main specializations. We have appropriate hall infrastructure, high-capacity cranes, and machines adapted for cutting massive parts while maintaining tight dimensional tolerances. We serve key economic sectors in Silesia and across Poland.
Professional heavy machining of castings, forgings, and structures
Heavy machining requires a completely different technical culture than standard CNC milling. Working with enormous part mass requires the use of rigid large-format tools and perfect clamping planning to avoid deformations.
We perform cutting services on customer-supplied and our own semi-finished products, including:
-
Large-format steel and cast iron castings (e.g. machine housings, gearboxes).
-
Heavy die and free forgings.
-
Welded machine frames, bases, and beds.
-
Large-format shafts, axles, and cylinders for heavy industry.

Why Euro LTD?
Machine park adapted to large dimensions
The heart of our heavy machining department consists of powerful gantry mills and boring machines (drill-mills). These machines feature exceptional spindle rigidity, enabling efficient removal of large material allowances without vibration risk.
Applications – who do we perform large-format machining for?
Thanks to our location in Silesia, for years we have supported the mining, energy, and steel industries. Our large-format machining services are used, among others, in regeneration or production of:
- Mining machine parts (headers, conveyors).
- Components for conventional and renewable energy (turbine housings, wind turbine shafts).
- Hydraulic press elements and technological lines for the steel industry.
- Heavy industrial dies and molds.
Combining welding and mechanical machining
A common problem in mechanical engineering is stresses arising after welding large modules. We offer a comprehensive approach: we produce large components in our [link here: steel structures] department, carry out steel structure welding, and then the entire welded body goes to machines performing heavy machining, where we mill mating faces and bore hole axes (alignment) with exceptional precision.

Frequently asked questions
Despite the enormous weight and dimensions of parts, modern gantry mills and CNC boring machines allow us to maintain very strict tolerances. We can achieve flatness, parallelism, and coaxiality of holes (even those far apart) to hundredths of a millimeter, e.g. [+/- 0.02 mm] (depending on the thermal characteristics and rigidity of the part itself).
Euro LTD facility is located in Bytom (Silesia), in an area excellent in terms of transport connections. The large-format machining hall is equipped with powerful cranes with a lifting capacity of up to [e.g. 15 tons], and entrance gates allow free loading and unloading of elements directly from standard and oversized truck trailers.
Yes. Milling faces and boring bearing seats in large steel housings and frames after the welding process is one of our main services within heavy machining. Due to welding distortions, such parts are always machined after connections are made, and we have machines adapted to accommodate entire modules.
We accept 3D models from CAD software (e.g. .STEP, .X_T, .IGS). Based on them, our technology department generates appropriate machining codes (CAM programming) dedicated directly to our large-format machining centers.

Working with large dimensions requires individual engineering analysis – assessment of clamping method and tool accessibility. Send technical documentation of large parts (preferably in 3D format). Our technologists will review the specifications and prepare a specific offer for heavy machining at our facility in Bytom.
